MENDHAR, July 13: The resident of village Balad in Panchayat Sagara of Tehsil Mankote are aghast over non-availability of basic facilities in their area.
The residents are up in arms against the Government and the District Administration for neglecting their area.
“Government has failed to address the problems of common masses in our area”, the residents said adding that they have become the victim of officials apathy.
All the previous Government ignored our area on the development front, the residents said, adding that they have been deprived of all the basic facilities.
Better road connectivity, round the clock power supply, regular water supply and good education system for children are some of the basic facilities, which are not available in our area, the residents namely Mohammad Naseer, Mohammad Isaak, Ishfaq Ahmed and Abdul Qayoom said.
Deplorable condition of the road connecting our area, water logging, unscheduled power cuts and non-availability of mobile network are some of the issues which the residents are facing, they added.
“Our area falls along the Line of Control (LoC) where shelling from Pakistan side took place almost every day”, they said, adding that at the time of shelling, it becomes almost impossible to travel on the road connecting their area as its in dilapidated condition since long.
Despite repeated requests to the concerned authorities to provide basic facilities, nothing has been done till today, they said, adding that in the present era of Digital India, the residents of our village are living life of medieval time.
The residents have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to direct the concerned authorities for redressal of our issues.
