Reserved category employees’ protest enters 33rd day

JAMMU, July 4: A peaceful protest of all Jammu based reserved category employees posted in Kashmir continued for 33rd consecutive day today in the scorching heat  at Ambedkar Chowk, on Railway Station Road here.
The protesting employees raised slogans in support of their demands and urged the Lt Governor to issue necessary orders as has been discussed and assured  by the Lt Governor during the earlier meeting held on June 27 at Governor House Jammu regarding 3-point genuine demands including formation of a comprehensive time bound transfer policy, utilization of services of employees in their respective districts and not to pressurize the Jammu based employees to resume their duties under prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley.
The protesting employees collectively pledged to work with integrity and sincerity for the progress of association and would remain united till their genuine demands are fulfilled by the Government.
A large gathering of employees alongwith their siblings was witnessed. While addressing the protestors, in support of protesting employees, a school going child addressed the gathering and urged the administration to transfer our parents back to their home districts as the present situation is not conducive for their parents and siblings to survive in Kashmir.
Ramesh Chand, prominent member of Core Committee, All Jammu Based Reserved Category Employees Association Kashmir extended gratitude to the speakers particularly the school going children for their continuous support and advised all the employees to keep patience to bear this hardship and maintain the unity to strengthen the ongoing agitation and take this cause to its logical conclusion.
