DALTONGANJ/RANCHI : Re-polling in three booths spread across the assembly segments of Chhatarpur and Garhwa of Palamu Division concluded peacefully today. District Electoral Officer cum DC Kripanand Jha said voting, which commenced at 0700hrs, concluded at 1500hrs with the two booths of Chhatarpur recording a turnout of 60.15 per cent and one booth of Garhwa recording 74.66 per cent. In booth numbers 191 and 192 of Chhatarpur Assembly seat out of 745 and 693 eligible voters 440 and 425 voters cast their votes respectively, the DC said.
Similarly in booth number 86 of Garhwa out of eligible 1,058 voters 790 cast their votes, Mr Jha said. Re-polling was ordered in these booths by the EC after a struggle between two groups led to the damaging of the EVMs on November 25 during the first phase of elections in the state. Elaborate security arrangements had been made today in these booths with the DC along with Palamu SP Mayur Kanhaiya Patel monitoring the situation.
