Relief holders, SPMC accuse Govt of ignoring migrants

JAMMU, Dec 18: An emergency meeting of All Kashmiri Migrant relief holders held at Jagti under the presidentship of Ajay Bhat demanded that the migrant relief holders who have lost their entire property in Valley and were rendered homeless be paid adequate compensation.
The meeting also demanded enhancement of relief. In his address Bhat appealed both State and Central governments to look into the problems of migrants from Valley as they have no source of livelihood except cash assistance.
He demanded enhancement of relief in view of sky rocketing prices of essential commodities and said that the over aged youth are in desperation as they have been denied jobs by the Government over the years. He demanded that these youth be paid Rs 50 lakh as compensation.
General secretary of the organization, Kundan Raina  urged the Relief Commissioner to complete the process of Aadhar cards. The meeting among others was attended by R  L Raina from voice of KPs Ravi Zuthsi of  Jagti Coordination Committee its other office bearers, Veer Ji Belove and Pintu Ji. Besides Annu Ji of KP Coordination Committee also attended the meeting.
They said that State Government was not serious in settling the problems of displaced Pandits which have compounded over years. They alleged that Relief Organization as well as its engineering wing are totally defunct.
Meanwhile Sunil Pandita representing over aged youth in a separate meeting expressed concern over the delay in release of ration and relief to migrants. He accused the Government of deducting the quota of ration to displaced employees and pensioners who have been deprived of sugar quota for months together. He said even the sugar quota of relief holders has also been deducted especially in non camp areas which is a serious issue.
Expressing concern over the failure of government to supply relief and ration to migrants in time, Samajwadi Party Migrant Cell president Inder Ji Labroo accused the Minster of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Basharat Bukhari of his failure in keeping the commitment made with migrants. He said ever this Government came to power in the State migrants problems compounded further and now they have even been denied supply of ration in time.
He also accused the Relief Organization of harassing migrants.
He demanded removal of encroachments from Jagti township.
