Registration work in Jammu district reviewed

JAMMU, Apr 3: A meeting to review the registration work of Sub Registrars in the District Jammu was held under the chairmanship of Ghansham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu holding the additional charge of District Registrar, Registrations, Jammu.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held with the Sub Registrars with regard to redressing of the grievances of general public as also the Legal fraternity relating to the booking of slots for registration of the documents, reducing the time interval required for registering the documents.
The Sub Registrars were advised to ensure fairness, complete transparency and efficient Public service delivery in the work of the Registrations.
During the meeting, it was informed that during the financial year 2020-21 (01.04.2020 to 31.03.2021),a total of 15715 documents of different categories were registered with twelve Sub-Registrars working in the District Jammu and during the period an amount of Rs. 18,79,15,563was realized as Registration fee and Rs. 72,25,35,297as Stamp Duty in the District.
Sub Registrar Jammu South registered highest number of 3721 documents and realized an amount of Rs. 6.68 Cr registration fee and Rs. 25.62 Cr Stamp duty.
During the meeting, the Sub Registrars also projected the issue of shortage of staff, other infrastructural requirements and deployment of Security for safety of record and staff and they were assured that the issues will be sorted out in a phased manner.
