Reforms in Board Examinations

Sir,
Refer news item ‘Govt orders restructuring”’ DE March 16, 2017. School Education Department of the State has taken a very bold and appreciable step in restructuring examination system of various classes such as 10th in the beginning. The system to be introduced and started will go a long way in improving education standard as the students will get sufficient time to study in one class.
The system envisages that after the examination of 10th class is over, all the students will be admitted provisionally in 11th class without waiting for results which will provide more working days, and the precious time of the students will be saved which otherwise would go waste. In case a student fails, he will continue to be on rolls of next class till he appears in the same examination after six months and later his admission to higher class will be cancelled if he fails in this attempt. In both the cases he is at an advantage because if he fails in the first attempt he will still remain in the next class till he clears the examination. The studies in the next class will help him a lot rather than waste one month or more. This system was in vogue previously also but  does not know why it was not carried on further. Anyhow, as we know, it is never too late to mend and if the same scheme is now followed with zeal and zest, it will prove revolutionary. Every new scheme happens to be good but the fruit lies in its implementation.
Yours etc…
