Reduce road casualties

Sir,
This refers to article titled ‘Reduce Road Casualties’ by Raja Muzaffar Bhat (DE 11.02.2019). It was great to read about struggle of Mr Piyush Tewari and his NGO Save Life Foundation towards getting a special direction from Supreme Court of India for Good Samaritan Law. I congratulate Mr Piyush for his work. Good Samritan law is very essential in Jammu & Kashmir as we lose many of people every month in road accidents especially in Doda , Kishtwar and Ramban areas.
The deaths caused during traffic accidents in country or in our State is much more than people getting killed or injured due to insurgency or terrorism related incidents. J&K Government must bring this law in the State and it is impressed upon various political parties to work in this direction . Good Samaritans need to be rewarded as has been done by Karnataka Government. State of Karnataka has already enacted this law last year. Government and NGOs must train people living around National highways and create a large number of volunteers who can reach out to people during the 1st hour of accident also called “Golden Hour ” .
