Red Cross organizes medical camp for rain hit people at Saddal

JAMMU, Sept 24: Continuing   its mission to provide proper  Health check up to the affected people of  recent heavy  rains and flood, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region organized  a Diagnostic and  Medical Check-up Camp at village Saddal in Pancheri  Block.
During the camp, about  200  patients of general  and Eye  were examined  by  Dr  Rohini  Bhan, Medical Officer of Red Cross Dispensary, assisted by   Sohan Lal, Pharmacist and   Anil Kumar Sharma, Sup  Ophthalmic Asstt. Free tests  of   KFT, LFT, Lipid Profile,  Calcium etc  were also conducted   through a portable  and  unique  mobile lab (Bio-Chemistry) presented by M/s Khushi Centre for Rehabilitation & Research, Delhi.
The Red Cross also distributed free medicines as well as the relief material in shape of eatable items.
MLC Ajat Shatru Singh,  who was also there,  visited the camp and  appreciated the efforts  of Red Cross by reaching out to the flood affected people  of far flung areas especially at remote village Saddal  where  heavy  casualties/loss of human beings have occurred.
A central team of reputed Doctors from Pondicherry, which was also there to assess the situation of epidemic diseases, visited the Red Cross Medical Camp and appreciated the initiative taken for the flood hit victims of the area.
The  camp was organized under the supervision of its Honorary  Secretary,  R C Puri while  Sita Ram Sharma, Member of Indian  Red Cross Society was also present  in the camp.
