JAMMU, Feb 2: The members of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Society today took out a large Shobha Yatra in Bishnah and RS Pura area in connection with the 640th Parkash Divas of Guru Ravi Dass ji, which falls on February 10.
In connection with the celebrations of the Parkash Utsav of the great Guru, a large Shobha Yatra was taken out by the Society and the community members from Shri Guru Ravi Dass Bhawan, Bala Chak in Bishnah, A large number of people including women and children from the area reached the Bhawan in the morning to participate in this grand Shobha Yatra.
This programme was organised under the guidance and supervision of Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj from Pathankot. On this occasion, Gurdeep Giri Ji also delivered spiritual sermons to the Sangat and threw light on the mission of Guru Ravi Dass Ji.
The Shobha Yatra was flagged off by Minister for PHE, I&FC (MLA Suchetgarh), Sham Choudhary at 11 am. Yatra comprised of various highly decorated ‘Jhankies’ and Police band. Children from various schools of the area also participated in the programme.
The Shobha Yatra after passing through Dablehar, Chak Mohd Yar, Mussa Chak, Sunderpur and Khumb reached R S Pura. It was welcomed by the general public enroute. It was finally received by Forest Minister Ch Lal Singh and local MLA Dr Gagan Bhagat at RS Pura town. Gurdeep Giri ji also addressed the religious gathering at RS Pura town. Various meritorious students were also honoured on the occasion.
