JAMMU, Jan 18: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa here today started culvert and drain work which will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 4 lakh at Sector-A, Sainik Colony.
The drain was in dilapidated condition and created a lot of problems during monsoon season and a portion of it was washed away in heavy rains.
Speaking on the occasion the Councillor urged the locals to follow COVID-19 guidelines.
She informed that works worth Rs. 8 crore have been completed in her Ward in last two years which include roads, drains, culverts, deep drains, tiling works, electricity etc.
The Councillor also said that problems related to water-logging will be solved with embankment of main Nallah under AMRUT.
She urged upon the residents to avoid single use plastic as it chokes the drains resulting in overflow of the same.
