JAMMU, Oct 1: Debate competition was conducted today in ‘Display Your Talent’, organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. The topic for the debate was ‘In India it takes a degree of privilege to be a serious competitor in sports and hence Rio-2016’.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Satnam Kour, Assistant Dean SW, Dr AR Manhas, students and scholars were present on the occasion.
Ramneet Kour from Department of English, JU, Shivika Thakur from Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and Animesh Tiwari from SPMR college of Commerce were declared first, second and third respectively. Certificate of Merit was awarded to Sanchit Raina from Government MAM College.
Dr Anubhav Mathur and Jagdish Chander were the judges and Dr Garima Gupta was the teacher incharge of the event.
The event was coordinated by Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer and Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor.
Rajni, Hempreet, Radhika, Anjali, Sunakshi, Puneet, Neha and Tajaswani did the hall management.
