Raghunath Bazar Asso discusses developmental issues with Div Com

JAMMU, May 19: A delegation of Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Association (RBBA) led by its president Sanjay Gupta today called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and discussed various developmental issues.
The Association members requested the Divisional Commissioner to make some rectification in the development plan of the historical Raghunath Bazar proposed under the Smart City Project. They apprised the Divisional Commissioner that different development works have been initiated in the Raghunath Bazar under Jammu Smart City Project and there was a need to take some corrective steps.
Members requested for relocation of the pickets in a way that would serve both the purposes— security of the temple and adding to its grandeur and general ambience. They also urged to revise the plan of widening of the footpath area in the market by including the existing parking space as that would affect their business. “The paid parking for car and two wheelers should also be allowed under APP based parking, besides loading and the unloading point also need to be demarcated,” they added.
The delegation also requested for installation of CCTV cameras in the Bazaar for strengthening the security measures. They also demanded that the Market entry gate proposed at Bharat Mata Chowk towards Raghunath Bazar be constructed at the entry of Raghunath Ji Chowk.
The deputation further batted for creation of a Culture Spot for organizing cultural activities and a selfie –point in front of Raghunath Chowk to add to the attraction of the market, besides installation of video walls at Raghunath Ji Chowk and Bharat Mata Chowk depicting important information of tourist spots of the Jammu City.
The Divisional Commissioner listened to the issues patiently and assured the Association that their genuine demands would be considered.
Senior vice president Sanjay Sethi, general secretary Amit Goel, treasurer Ankush Sethi, joint secretary Mohit Gupta, secretary Nitin Gupta besides Bhuvneshwar Gandotra, Baldev Khullar and Anoop Jain (members) were part of the delegation.
