JAMMU, Sept 25: Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) today held massive demonstration against BJP led NDA Government for its failure to give befitting reply to Pakistan after Uri terror attack.
Youth Congress activists also burnt effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharief for supporting and harbouring terrorism.
Shouting slogans against Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, activists of Youth Congress staged protest at busy Tawi bridge and disrupted vehicular movement for some time as mark of protest against NDA Government’s weak policies to deal with terrorism. A large number of locals also joined the Youth Congress activists to lodge protest against BJP for disrespecting martyrs of Uri, who belonged to Jammu region.
Speaking on the occasion, president of the PYC, Pranav Shagotra chided BJP led NDA Government for meekly submitting before terrorism and only indulge lip services to hoodwink the people. He especially mentioned towards yesterday’s speech of Prime Minister in Kerala and alleged that he failed to give any clear message to those who were involved in executing Uri terror attack in which 18 soldiers lost their lives.
Demanding tough action against Pakistan after Uri terror attack, Mr Shagotra asked Prime Minister that sending messages is not going to serve any purpose at this point of time. He said that during the last two and half years, this NDA regime has done nothing to deal with the menace of terrorism.
PYC president also took State BJP leaders to task for disrespecting Dogra soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. He said that other States of the country have already announced ex-gratia for the kin of the martyrs of the Uri terror attack but the J&K Government has not make any announcement in this regard.
“Priority of this Government is to appease Hurriyat Conference and other Separatist groups of Kashmir valley so this regime is not going to take any decision in favour of the Armed forces”, he claimed.
J&K has failed to show gesture like UP, Bihar etc to the sons of the soil who attained martyrdom in Uri attack. State Govt has been disparaging its martyrs.
Prominent among those accompanied included Rajveer Manhas (PYC gen secy), Balbir Singh (Secy), Chetan Wanchoo, Sandeep Rissam, Vinay Sharma, Charanjeet Singh Cheeku, HS Chib, Ricky Dalotra, Anoop Gupta and Rocky Choudhary.
