JAMMU, Sept 25: A literary meeting was organized today by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu (PLS-J) at Tagore Public Higher Secondary School, Rani Bagh (Digiana, Jammu).
Senior and young writers as well as poets participated in the meeting, which was presided over by Jang S Verman (senior artist, writer & columnist on art & culture).
The participating Punjabi writers and poets viz. JPS Azad, Pritam Singh Anjaan, Harbhajan Singh Upasak, Suraj Singh Suraj, Renu Bala, Harjit Singh Uppal, Dr Baljeet Singh Raina and Jang S Verman presented their poetical creations in the meeting, on the themes related to societal & political issues, love and patriotism, etc.
In his presidential address, Jang S Verman appreciated the writers, artists, performers and intellectuals who kept their creative endeavours continued through various digital platforms even during the hard times of COVID- 19 pandemic.
Earlier, Dr Baljeet Singh Raina (general secretary, PLS-J), in his address, said that the organization is streamlining its literary activities after the COVID-19 pandemic era. He announced that in future PLS-J will hold one literary meeting every month.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Baljit Raina while JS H S Uppal (a senior writer) extended the vote of thanks.
