MENDHAR, June 5: The people from at least eight villages of Mendhar and Mankote area are badly suffering as nearly 15 electric transformers are lying out of order for the last two to three weeks.
Reports said that several villages including Dabraj, Salani, Ghani, Phamrote, Uchhad, Thera Upper, Darana and Chajjla besides many hamlets in the area are without power during these hot summer days. The people are facing lot of difficulties. The people continue to get fatty electric bills but there is no power supply to them.
AEE PDD Mendhar, Marir Ahmed when contacted said that there were more than 15 electric transformers lying defunct and some of them have been sent to the PDD workshop at Surankote. There is much pressure on the workshop and therefore delay is being caused to get them repaired or replaced.
