JAMMU, Jan 17: Panthers’ Trade Union (PTU) today warned the officials of J&K Bank to ignore the people of Banihal, particularly the public of Tehsil Panchal.
“It is very unfortunate that since J&K Bank has come into being it has only one branch in Ukhral i.e; in tehsil Panchal which is feeding around 50,000 people of the area and which always have a short-fall of staff”, said PTU general secretary, Sewa Singh Bali while addressing a meeting of the union.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of PTU president, Parmjeet Singh Marshal and attended by Parshotam Parihar, State secretary. The meeting was also attended by senior Panthers Party leaders, Gagan Partap Singh, Chetan Sharma, Neeraj Gupta and Anil Rakwal.
Bali said going to J&K Bank at Ukhral for depositing or withdrawing money is just like getting ration from a Government depot, being standing in a queue for long hours.
He warned the higher ups in J&K bank to open another branch in Banihal in the interest of the public or be ready to face agitation by the union.
