Provide 27% reservation to OBCs in J&K UT: Cong

JAMMU, Nov 8: All India Congress Committee coordinator OBC Department, Sanjay Parmar Saini has demanded 27 % reservation for the members of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to media-persons here today Saini said, in J&K there is just 2 % reservation for the OBCs while it is 27 % in many other States and also at the Centre as per Mandal Commission recommendations. He demanded 27 % quota for the OBCs in J&K UT as per Mandal Commission report.

He further pointed out that there is no member from the OBC community in the State Commission for Backward Classes. At least one member from these communities be inducted in the Commission, he demanded.
Saini further said that with the setting up Toll Plaza near Sarore in district Samba and another one coming up near Lakhanpur in district Kathua is extra burden on the general public. These Toll Plazas be withdrawn immediately in the general interest of the public, he added.
The Congress leader further said that Revenue Department is already over burdened and with the shifting of Registery of documents to Revenue authorities from Courts will put extra burden on them. It will also give rise to corruption as well. The Government must review its decision. He said Congress will fight for the above demands of the general public.
Sandeep Dogra, Chairman of the OBC Department J&K UT, Aditya Dogra vice chairman and senior member Raj Kumar Sodhi also accompanied Mr Saini.
