RAJOURI, Feb 3: Protest demonstration and indefinite dharna in Budhal town continued on the second consecutive day today in view of resentment among the people of the area as the State Government has denied  Tehsil status to the area.
A large number of people irrespective of their party affiliation, including Sarpanchs and Panchs have joined hands to launch indefinite dharna against the decision of the Government to deny Tehsil status to Budhal. The people had gone on indefinite dharna yesterday following announcement by the Chief Minister regarding creation of new administrative units including  Tehsils, Blocks/ Niabats.
The people were shouting slogans against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, PCC president Saif-ud-Din Soz, local Minister incharge Health hailing from Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Khan and local MLA. They alleged that  Budhal has become victim of dirty politics  and no justice has been accorded to the area as claimed by Chief Minister and even by PCC chief. The people of Budhal have been given step motherly treatment while many areas which even did not deserve CD Block status were made tehsils.
Reports said that market remained closed and the movement of traffic was also not allowed in the area by the local youth. Going tough, the local people declared that they will continue their protest till Budhal is declared as tehsil. Several local leaders and Sarpanchs addressed gathering. It was raining and even snowfall also started there but the people continued  their protest through out the day and late evening. Addl DC Rajouri and senior police officers also visited Budhal and talked to the agitating people but they refused to lift dharna and suspend agitation.
