JAMMU, July 15: Jammu District Athletic Championship organized by J&K Amateur Athletic Association concluded at MA Stadium, in which prominent schools and clubs took part.
On the valedictory function, Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of SS Gill, Romesh Sharma (SAI), Gurcharan Singh and M Shams-u-Din, Sports Council coaches and Vinod Bhatia.
Young promising athlete of J&K Aryaaveer Singh of BSF School, Jammu gave his best time in 800 meters and clinched first position in under-16.
In under-14 boys (60 meters), Sahil Sanotra, Amandeep and Dinesh claimed first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls’ category, Gyan Kour, Akam Kour and Gurdev Kour clinched top three positions respectively.
In under-16 boys (100 meters), Randeep Singh, Varun Kumar and Aryanveer Singh secured first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in under-16 boys (200 meters), Vikas, Kulvinder and Aditya bagged top three positions respectively.
In under-16 boys (400 meters), Randeep, Varun and Aditya claimed first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in under-16 (800 meters), Aryaaveer Singh, Sunil Chaudhary and Maneesh Kumar bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-18 (200 meters), Ajay, Shubam and Gurjeet bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in under-18 boys (400 meters), Ajay Singh, Shubam and Maneesh Kumar clinched first, second and third positions respectively. In under-18 girls, Shilpa, Shivani and Bhawna bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
