Project for establishment of freight terminal cleared

JAMMU, May 9: Divisional Level Single Window Clearance Committee of Jammu Division which met under the chairpersonship of Anoo Malhotra, Director Industries & Commerce Jammu here today cleared the project of M/S ACTL Limited for establishment of a private freight terminal at Samba.
The project shall involve an investment of Rs. 15 crores and shall be a milestone for movement of raw material and finished goods to and from Jammu and Kashmir. The project is being established on a piece of land measuring about 266 kanals in IGC Samba. With the operation of the project the export and import of goods shall also be streamlined and hassle free.
Meanwhile, M/S UPL Limited donated sanitizers for further distribution through Director Industries and Commerce Jammu to the people affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. 50 litres of sanitizer was donated by the company for use by the corona warriors like doctors and paramedics in the peripheral hospitals.
M/S VKC Nuts Private Limited made a contribution of Rs. 1.61 lakhs towards COVID J&K Relief Fund. Gagan Jain, Director of the Company was present on behalf of M/S VKC Nuts whereas Ponnusamy, Plant Head of M/S UPL Limited along with Sanjay Mira was also present on the occasion.
Pertinently, the industrial sector of J&K has come forward in a big way to donate in cash and kind to help the needy in Kathua, Samba and Jammu. The Director I&C, Jammu Anoo Malhotra thanked the industrialists and appreciated their efforts. She also appealed to the other industrialists to come forward and help the needy.
