Pro Kabaddi League semis, final shifted to Mumbai

New Delhi, Aug 13: The two semi-finals and final of the inaugural Pro Kabaddi League have been shifted out of Bangalore and will now be held at the National Sports Club of India’s indoor stadium in Mumbai.   “Previously slated to take place in Bengaluru, the semis and the final of the league changed its destination to Mumbai in a gesture to honour the fantastic set-up of NSCI and the rousing welcome that the city’s sports fans and celebrities extended to the league’s inaugural leg,” the League organisers said today.

The semi-finals will be played back-to-back on August 29 and after a day’s gap, the final will take place on August 31.

Priced at Rs 300 per day, tickets for these matches would be available on ‘Book My Show’, starting August 20 and also at the stadium, the release said.   “Mumbai provided us with the perfect launch pad for the league and by hosting the finale here, we are sure to get a befitting farewell as well,” said Charu Sharma, MD of league promoters, Mashal Sports.

“Though we are sure that Bengaluru would have left no stone unturned to make the final a grand affair, we wanted the league to come a full circle, reaching the pinnacle where we began,” he added.

Mumbai hosted the first seven group games of the tournament at NSCI’s indoor stadium.
