JAMMU, Oct 12: Prakash Parv (birth anniversary) of 4th Guru of Sikhismm, Guru Ramdas Ji was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram here today.
The `Parkash Utsav’ of Guru Ramdas Ji is celebrated all over the world by the Sikhs coinciding with the celebration at Darbar Sahib Amritsar following the directions of Akal Takhat Sahib.
The religious function in this connection was organised by Sikh Naujwan Sabha Digiana under the patronage of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch. The Sikh Sangat from various parts of Jammu participated and sought the blessings of great Guru.
Bhai Bachan Singh, Hazuri Ragi Gurudwara Digiana Ashram, Ragi Jatha Ranjit Singh UP, Bhai Gian Singh Ji, Bhai Joginder Singh Ji Ragi recited Shabad Kirtan.
The Sikh preacher, Fatey Singh through Gurbani Path throw light on the life and teachings of Guru Ramdas Ji.
Mahant Manjit Singh Ji also addressed the gathering and asked devotees to follow the teachings of great Guru to be a true Sikh of Guru and work for the good and welfare of humanity and educate the children for making them good citizens.
The representatives of various Sikh organizations including Sikh United Front J&K, Bhai Kanheya Nishkam Seva Society, Shiromani Akali Dal, Sikh Naujwan Sabha, Sikh Student Federation, Sikh Welfare Society and Istri Akali Dal J&K participated in the function.
