JAMMU, Nov 29: In the ongoing celebrations of annual Shri Kaal Bhairav Ashtami at Pracheen Bhairav Dev temple in Chowk Chabutra area of Jammu city, a Prabhat Pheri was taken out today.
Pandit Rumil Sharma, priest at the temple informed that Prabhat Pheri started at 6:00 am from the temple after special prayers and chanting special Mantras invoking blessings of Shri Kaal Bhairav Dev Ji to safeguard people from Coronavirus.
“The procession of Prabhat Pheri passed through different areas of the city amidst chanting of devotional songs and slogans by the devotees in praise of Bhagwan Bhairav Dev Ji and it culminated back at the temple where Prasad was distributed among the devotees,” Sharma further said adding that all the safety norms of COVID-19 pandemic like social distancing and wearing of face masks were strictly observed by the devotees.
The temple authorities also distributed blankets to the labourers engaged at renovation work of Mubarak Mandi complex.
Pandit Rumil Sharma informed that Shri Kaal Bhairav Ashtami will be celebrated on December 7 and many devotees will observe a fast on that day.
He also said that a devotional song dedicated to Shri Kaal Bhairav Ji will be released on December 8 while a documentary on Shri Kaal Bhairav Dev Ji has been released today on YouTube.
Sharma said that ritual of Pooja of Peer-Fakirs and offering them food will be on December 3.
In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic the temple authorities have said that the devotees can even offer prayers to the deity from their homes in order to avoid crowd at the temple premises.
