JAMMU, Aug 23: In line with the policy of Union Government to increase the usage and popularity of Hindi in the offices and other departments under its control for wider acceptability of Hindi as official language of the country, Powergrid, Northern Region Transmission System-II, organized a cultural programme at Abhinav Theater, today, which was presented by the artists of Natrang.
The theme of the programme was ‘Celebrating Diversity’ wherein a unique cultural album of Jammu and Kashmir was showcased through the dances of J&K. Starting with vibrant Kashmiri ‘Rouf’, the programme transported the audiences to a most rejoicing journey of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, unfolding spectacular dance traditions of Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojari, Pahari, Bhaderwahi and Ladakhi cultures.
The presentation was conceived and devised by Padamshree Balwant Thakur. Prior to this performance an energetic dance performance by the children of employees was also presented on this occasion.
The event was attended by all the employees of Powergrid NRTS-II posted at Jammu and Samba alongwith their family members, senior officials from Corporate Centre and the Region and various luminaries from the State also attended the event.
Ravi P Singh, Director (Personnel), Powergrid was the chief guest and Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh was guest of honour.
Anil Jain, Executive Director (NRTS-II) welcomed all the guests. In his opening remarks, Jain stressed upon the employees present to ensure maximum usage of Hindi in their official working and urged them to prove as role models in this direction.
Ravi P Singh on this occasion highlighted the efforts Powergrid in promoting the official language Hindi. He complimented Anil Jain and his team for organizing such programmes wherein a feeling of unity and patriotism is generated and which can further strengthen our commitment towards implementation of Raj Basha Hindi. Simrandeep Singh also appreciated Powergrid for its efforts in national growth and development. Balwant Thakur appreciated the efforts of Powergrid and thanked it for giving Natrang a chance to perform in front of its audience. Anil Jain felicitated Ravi P Singh, Simrandeep Singh and Balwant Thakur on this occasion.
