NEW DELHI, Dec 11: Potato prices fell by 0.40 per cent to Rs 928 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in April fell by Rs 3.70, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 928 per quintal in a business turnover of 4 lots.
Potato for delivery in March also declined by Rs 3.10, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 940 per quintal in 30 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on the back of low demand in the spot markets against higher supplies from producing belts, mainly kept pressure on potato prices at futures trade. (PTI)
