JAMMU, May 16: J&K Polytechnic Colleges faculty members today met Minister for Finance Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and apprised him of their long pending issues.
The issues raised include implementation of AICTE pay scales, service conditions and qualification for the faculty and other academic staff in technical (diploma) institutions.
They informed the Minister that all the codal formalities have been completed for the notification to be issued in favour of the J&K Technical Education Department regarding implementation of AICTE pay scales and service conditions.
The deputation demanded issuance notification immediately and stressed upon the Government for early redressal of their long pending demand.
In their charter of demands, the Forum submitted that all the polytechnics offering diploma program in engineering and technology are governed by the rules and regulations of All India Council for Technical Education New Delhi and their recognition is mandatory for running the Diploma Engineering Programmes.
Minister gave patient hearing and assured the deputation that the matter will be expedited and resolved in favour of the employees.
The deputation also met Navin Choudhary, Principal Secretary Finance and Javeed Khan Secretary Technical Education, Higher Education and IT and requested them for early fulfillment of their demand. Both the officers assured the members of deputation that the case is being dealt in a positive way and will be resolved soon.
