Police seizes 247 bottles of liquor

SURANKOTE, Oct 3: The police conducted a raid in Surankote area of Poonch and seized 247 bottles of liquor on the dry day.

Acting on reliable information, a party from Police Station Surankote conducted a raid during last evening at a Dhaba/tea stall belonging to Salman Suleman Sheikh.

During the raid, 247 bottles of liquor were recovered and seized. The action was taken as dry day, and the liquor was allegedly being sold illegally from the said premises.

On seeing the police party, the accused fled the spot.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 322/2026 under Sections 48(a), 48(f), 49 and 50 of the Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Surankote.
