KATHUA, Feb 23 : To eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and take stringent action against drug peddlers within district, Kathua police today recovered 17.5 kilograms of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics at DPS Chowk area of Police Station(PS) Rajbagh, arrested one Narco- smuggler and seized narcoticsubstance as well as the truck on the spot.
Police said today a team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra SHO, PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border Pankaj Soodan- during routine naka/patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at DPS Chowk, Rajbagh noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle (Truck) bearing Registration Number, JK08AF-5181 which was driven by one Gagan Kohli, son of Harbans Lal of Rajbagh.
During checking 17.5 kilograms of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics were recovered from his possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance (Bhukki) as well as vehicle was seized and one person was arrested. A case
FIR No. 42/2023 U/S 8/15/ NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Rajbagh. Further investigation is underway.
