Police holds debate competition

DODA, May 9: District Police organized a debate competition on ‘Drug Abuse’ at Government Higher School Assar under Civic Action Programme (CAP), here today.
On this occasion, SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom delivered an impressive lecture to make the students aware about drug abuse, cyber crime, traffic violations with special focus on de-radicalization and other social crimes in the society.
The SSP also emphasized upon the students to channelize their energy in a positive direction and devote their time in studies and sports which has a key role to build their future career and also for the better and healthy society.
It was also urged upon the participants to cooperate with the Police in eradicating the menace of drugs and other evils from the society. A total of 250 participants including teaching staff attended the debate competition and the outstanding performances of the students were appreciated by the SSP.
The staff as well as the students appreciated the role of Police for organizing such an awareness programme.
Suman Devi of Govt. Higher Secondary School Assar stood 1st, while Mohd Naim Salaria of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Assar remained 2nd and Tamsha Kumari of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Assar clinched 3rd prize.
Lekh Raj SDM Assar, Susheel Kumar DySP DAR Doda. Sudershan Chandail Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Assar and Inspector Bhovinder Singh SHO PS Assar were also present during the event.
