Police hands over specially abled lady to her family

JAMMU, Aug 30: A specially abled lady roaming in Green Belt Park area of Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) was today handed over to her family by Jammu police.
“Acting on the information that a mental unsound lady is roaming in Green Belt Park area, a police team of police station Women Cell Jammu reached the spot and brought the lady to Women Cell,” a police spokesperson said.
He said after conducting medical check-up of the lady, she was counseled to ascertain her identity and address which she was not able to disclose properly. “After this, special police teams of police station Women Cell under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Swati Sharma were constituted to ascertain the residential address of the lady,” he added.
The official said that the police team led by SHO police station Women Cell Inspector Anita Katal did strenuous efforts and after connecting various leads along with timely human intervention achieved success in finding the address of the lady. The lady was handed over to her in-laws after completing all the legal formalities, he added.
