Police foils 2 attempts of bovine smuggling, 18 animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Oct 11: Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 18 animals, which were being smuggled to Kashmir valley.
Ramnagar Police rescued 11 bovine animals from Barota Dalsar road in Ramnagar. Based on a reliable information, a Police party, led by SI Sanjay Raina, SHO Ramnagar, laid a surprise naka at Barota Dalsar road in the wee hours of this morning and intercepted two Tata Mobile vehicles, bearing registration number JKO2BD-4867 and JK14D-1686. During checking, 11 bovines animals were found in these vehicles. Police rescued the animals while drivers of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of darkness.
A case FIR no.144/17 U/S 188 RPC 3 PCA has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar against the absconding drivers
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police rescued seven bovine animals at Battal Ballian Udhampur. Based on a reliable information, a police party, led by Insp Sanjeev Gupta, SHO PS Udhampur, laid a surprise naka at Battal Ballian for checking of vehicles. Noticing the police party, driver of one Tata Mobile parked his vehicle JK02AS 5685 on road and fled away from the spot. During checking, police party rescued seven bovine animals from the vehicle.
In this regard, a case FIR No.422/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Udhampur.
