Police distributes household items to BPL families

REASI, June 16: With an aim to distribute  various items  among the most needy and BPL category persons, a  function was organized by  the District Police  Reasi, here today.
SSP Reasi, Tahir Sajjad Bhat handed over the relief items to needy people under Civic Action Programme.
The BPL families  were identified under the jurisdiction of Police Station Reasi, Pouni, Katra and Ransoo with an effort  to distribute  these items among the deserving  people.
Total 150 boxes of items were distributed among 77 families in Reasi, 20 in Ransoo, 20 in Pouni and 33 in Katra.
For distribution of the items,  a committee  was formed  under the chairmanship of Sanjay Singh Raina,  Addl. SP Reasi.
Speaking on the occasion,   SSP Reasi said that Police would  take in hand more initiatives of such nature in future  also so as to reach to the grass root level and bridge the gap between Police  and the public. He further said that given the present  security  scenario in the State, the Police Department was  taking many initiative to come closer to the public and render all sort of genuine assistance to them.
The programm  was also attended by Dr Nikhil Gogna,  Dy  SP Hqrs  Reasi;   Dr Satish Bhardwaj,  Dy  SP DAR DPL Reasi and Ashok Sharma,  SDPO Katra.  All these officers spoke on this occasion and apprised the participants about various schemes  introduced by the J&K Police for upliftment of poor and weaker sections of the society.
