JAMMU, Feb 25: A Constable of J&K Police was killed today in a road mishap in Channi area of city outskirts.
“A speeding truck bearing registration number JK02BU-5581 hit a bike (registration number JK02BF-9713) this evening on National Highway at Channi Himmat,” a police official said.
He said in the mishap, bike rider identified as Sunil Patwari son of Manoj Patwari, resident of Talab Tillo, who was a serving Constable in J&K Armed Police died on the spot. “The body of the deceased has been shifted to GMC Jammu for postmortem and a case in this connection registered at police station Channi,” he added.
The official said that both the vehicles involved in the mishap have been seized while the accused truck driver managed to flee from the spot.
