PoJK Sharnarthis delegation calls on Sukhbir Badal

JAMMU, July 2: A delegation of All J&K PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum led by Manjit Singh Sirsa president , Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee and president, of the Forum, advocate Amrik Singh called on former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and present MP, S Sukhbir Singh Badal and apprised him of various demands of PoJK Sharnarthis.
The deputation put forth the charter of demands to Badal along with two resolution copies among which one concerned to Union Government and second to Punjab Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Amritsar.
From Central Government the Forum demanded release of balance of ex-gratia amount of Rs 24.50 lakh per family of DPS of 1947 in one installment. The second issue was to grant Minority Commission in J&K since its benefits are already given to the majority community of the State and the actual minority community is deprived and discriminated.
The third demand was implementation of Anand Marriage Act which was already passed by Parliament of India and implemented in rest of the country except J&K.
The another demand which was discussed by the delegation included to grant of admission to Sikh children in the professional colleges of the country along with other refugees of PoJK migrated in the year 1989-90.
The deputation demanded release of 24 Legislative Assembly seats reserved for PoK displaced persons in the year 1947 which are unnecessarily blocked, the eight seats out of them be got released for the PoJK persons of 1947. The delegation further urged the Akali leader and MP that the process be done before the coming Assembly elections so that the delimitation process be completed before the elections.
The delegation sought immediate intervention of Sukhbir Singh Badal in redressing the demands of the PoJK Sharnarthis and Sikh minorities of J&K. The other office bearers of the Forum were also as the part of delegation.
