JAMMU, July 3: Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) while reiterating its demand for passage of Shrines and Temples Bill for management and protection of Hindu religious places in Kashmir Valley has sought the intervention of BJP leadership in the matter.
During an interactive session with BJP leaders here at Badshah Kalandar Ashram Patoli Mangotrian today the Trust urged them to take up the issue on their level with Government and get it resolved as passage of Hindu Shrine and Temples Bill will act a first Confidence Building Measure (CBM) with the community. The meeting was chaired by M K Jalali, president Sharika Peeth Sanstha, Subash Nagar while the prominent members of the Trust including its acting president, Bansi Lal Zar, senior members, Kashmiri Lal, Manmohan Thaploo, general secretary, Shadi Lal Kaul, C L Pandita, president, P K Virender Raina, president, Tral Shrines Temples Prabandhak Committee, Dr Ramesh Bhat, Ashok Braroo, A K Raina of Samaj Sudhar Trust, Bushan Lal Bhat, Chand Ji and Dileep Pandita.
The BJP leaders present in the meeting included vice president Kashmir Displaced District, Jawhar Lal, senior party leaders, Hira Lal Bhat, Ashok Kangan, S K Bhat and Moti Lal. The meeting was compared by Sundri Lal Koul secretary, Trust.
Addressing the meeting Trust representatives said with the joining of new team in the BJP who are fully abreast with the community problems which is the outcome of genocide, they can present and highlight the issue of the Trust before the Government in right perspective and also take up the issue before the party High Command in New Delhi seeking their intervention in the matter.
The Trust said that the condition of many shrines and temples in Valley which are the cultural monuments and symbols of the rich cultural heritage are in bad condition and their preservation for the posterity is must as these shrines besides Kashmir also represent the rich Indian civilization and bonds of Kashmir and its people with the Indian society from times immemorial.
The BJP leaders who were also honoured on the occasion assured that they will leave no stone unturned in not only highlighting this issue before concerned quarters but get the law enacted for the preservation of Hindu shrines and temples in the Valley.
