PM’s visit: DGP reviews security, asks cops to remain alert

JAMMU:
Asking cops to remain alert and vigilant, J&K Director General of Police K Rajindera today reviewed the security scenario ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu scheduled for July 17 on the occasion of 100th Anniversary of Girdhari Lal Dogra.
During the meeting detailed briefing was given by IGP Jammu followed by the officers of Intelligence agencies, Army and Police with regard to Police and Security arrangement planned by them to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the VVIP visit to Jammu.
After threadbare discussion on the various security related issues pertaining to high profile visit and strengthening of infiltration grid on IB and LOC.
All the officers have been directed to maintain highest level of alertness and co-ordination among themselves and also to share the intelligence related information directly bearing to the VVIP visit in real time basis to foil the nefarious designs of Anti-National Elements and their mentors across the IB.
On the border management front, the DGP stressed upon the District SSsP to lay Joint Nakas on all the infiltration routes.
”All Border Police Stations and Police Posts, VDC members, be strengthened and proper briefing be given to them by Supervisory offices regularly regarding nature of duties to be performed by them,” he said.
He also stressed for Night Patrolling on National Highway be conducted and a close liaison be maintained with all forces deployed in their area of jurisdictions.  (AGENCIES)
