Plus Two Lecturers highlight demands, issues

UDHAMPUR, July 21: The monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum, was held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, the District President of the Forum, for discussing various demands and issues of the Plus 2 cadre.
Deliberating in the meeting, the members expressed resentment against the Government over the long delay in announcing Assured Career Progression (ACP ) for the Plus 2 cadre on the analogy of doctors and the KAS officers. They urged the new Advisor to Governor, Farooq Khan, who has been allotted the portfolio of School Education Department, to personally intervene to redress this most genuine demand of ACP for the Plus 2 Cadre.
They also demanded that thè orders of placements of Masters/Teachers as Incharge Lecturers in the other subjects be also issued and all the promotee lecturers be posted at the earliest to fill up the large number of vacancies of lecturers in short staffed schools. The members demanded that posts of lecturers in Computer Science be created especially at a time when the country is moving towards Digital India.
The meet demanded repatriation/transfers of Principals and lecturers who have completed their tenure in Ladakh region and other hilly areas to the schools nearer to their homes. The members also demanded the regularisation of Jt Directors, Chief Education Officers, Principals and Lecturers in the School Education Department, who have been serving in the incharge capacity for varying periods of time.
The meet also demanded rationalisation of staff in accordance with the roll and need of the schools and issuance of the orders of placement of lecturers as Sr Lecturers as same has not been issued for about six years. They also demanded that confidential material of the various examinations be supplied to the Superintendents at the examination centres by the BOSE.
Among those, who addressed the meeting, included Ashok Sharma, Arunesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Ram Murti, Luxmi Kant, Joginder Gupta, Sudesh Kumar, Rajkaran Singh and others.
