This has reference to the news item “Teachers Guild demands DPCs of teachers, masters, lecturer’s DE Oct 9 2017.
The concern expressed by the Teachers Guild over the vacant posts in the Education department is quite genuine. One wonders why the Education Department has failed to release the promotion list of masters as lecturers in various disciplines. Some ot the lists have already been updated by the Department, but kept in cold storage for reasons best known to the concerned officials. These lists include English and Sociology. It may be mentioned here that the tentative lists of these subjects have been released. And it was expected that the final list would be released very soon after carrying out modifications. The English subject tentative list was released before Darbar move in March. Thereafter one does not know its fate. The would-be-promotees have been visiting the concerned officials, but without getting an assurance from them. Sociology seems to have met the same fate. Likewise, there are other subjects in which no promotion have been made. The teacher fraternity is highly anguished over the uncertainty of these lists.
It is expected that these lists would be released shorty, and other issues confronting teaching community too would be resolved to the satisfaction of the teacher community.
