JAMMU, Oct 22: To take the stock of socio-political situation in the State, Panun Kashmir (PK) held a meeting of its Executive Council here, today which also discussed the preparations of the programme connected with the  “J&K Vijay Divas”  Accession Day to be held on  October 29 at New Delhi.
The meeting was presided over by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president PK. Among others it  was attended by M.L.Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee, Utpal Kaul, senior leader PK, Virender Raina its national spokesperson, Upinder Kaul,  general secretary, Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org), Virender Kaul, organizing secretary, Vijay Qazi and Surinder Kaul, secretaries, N.M.Gadroo, treasurer and Sameer Bhat, convener, Panun Kashmir Youth.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, P K, while addressing the meeting expressed satisfaction over the statement of MoS in the PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh that the Central Government would not hold any dialogue with the separatist elements in the Jammu and Kashmir State. It is for the first time in the last seven decades that the Government has taken such a categorical position in regard to the Kashmir issue in the Supreme Court as well. Moreover, the statement of the Army Chief General Bipin Rawat that the Islamic radicalization is a global phenomenon that needs to be taken seriously is also a statement of fact, he added .
He said PK would like to make it clear that the only issue that needs settlement internally is the issue of the resettlement of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community in Kashmir as per its geo-political aspirations expressed in the Margdarshan Resolution.
He stressed on liberation of Pakistan occupied areas of J & K as per the 1994 unanimous resolution of the Indian Parliament. “We reiterate our demand for the constitution of Special Crimes Tribunal to go into the excesses against the Pandits”, he added.
Utpal Kaul, senior leader in his speech said that it needs to be made clear that the agenda of the programme in New Delhi comprises discussion and debate on current situation in Kashmir, aspirations of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, the accession of J& K to the Union of India 70 years before, importance of abrogation of Art 370 and 35A, the current situation of the Brahmin community at large, illegal immigration of Rohingyas in the country and particularly in Jammu and the demographic invasion on the Jammu region. The Government is also expected to take tough decisions against the latest stone throwing incident on the minority KP house on the occasion of Deewali in Kashmir, he added.
He said the public perception, created over several months that the Government is a non-functional body  needs a serious review at the highest level, and maintained that the State Working Committee meeting of the BJP in Srinagar this weekend also assumes great importance in this regard.
Virender Raina, national spokesperson-PK said that the security scenario in the Kashmir valley demands application of both conventional and non-conventional methods.
