Physical Fitness Test for BPEd course begins at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, Mar 29: Physical Fitness Test and viva voice for the aspirants of Bachelors in Physical Education began at College of Physical Education, here today.
Pertinently, College of Physical Education is only such College in the State where Masters (MPEd) and bachelors (BPEd) courses are being taught.
The intake capacity for two year bachelors course in physical education is 70 (55 seats for general category while 15 seats for departmental candidates).
This year 107 candidates have applied for the course. The physical fitness test for the said course comprised 200 meters run, long jump for both boys and girls while as 800 meters long distance run for girls and 1500 meters long distance run for male candidates.
Candidates possessing graduation are eligible for admission to such courses.
However, preference is given to candidates having national level sports merit and participation certificates to their credit.
The Director General of Youth Service and Sports, Jahangir Mir expressed satisfaction over the neat and clean admission process for the said course and over the interest of female candidates, who participated in large numbers in the admission process and also took active part in all the stages of Physical Fitness Test.
