The protesting workers were raising slogans in support of their demands. They also shouted loud slogans against BJP Govt and the J&K UT administration. They alleged that despite assurance by the top BJP leaders, their issues remained unresolved.
Several senior trade unionists addressed the gathering and alleged that LG’s Administration has also failed to solve their issues. They said LG had also assured to settle their issues in presence of BJP MP and the party president in J&K recently, but the time frame given to the United Front has also lapsed. They said families of daily wagers are facing starvation but the Govt is unmoved.
They alleged that many workers are not paid their wages of over 60-65 months. The Government is not taking any final decision about their fate. They warned to intensify their struggle in near future as the Government has only given false assurances and did nothing about resolution of their issues.
