JAMMU, Sept 16: Drivers- Cleaners Union of PHE Department, Jammu, has demanded the Government to immediately disengage private water tankers from PHE Division, Samba and Akhnoor.
The president of the Union, Mohan Singh Charak, while addressing a meeting of the union, said that the Government funds are being misused on private hired tankers by the concerned Executive Engineers whereas the services of the departmental water tankers are not being used.
The Union further said that there is nexus between the Executive Engineers of said divisions and influential people whose water tankers have been engaged in the said divisions and in this way they are looting Government exchequer ruthlessly through fraudulent bills every month.
The Union demanded to hold an inquiry into the matter so that the guilty officers involved in malpractice be punished.
