REASI, July 31: Even after seventy years of independence and tall claims of development, inhabitants of Gulab Garh in Reasi district have to risk their lives for cross river and reach their destinations for daily chores.

Even as the locals have themselves built a temporary foot bridge on the river, its overflowing during the rainy seasons makes it extremely dangerous to cross over this. The flow of water usually remains so fast that lives of the people crossing this bridge are always in danger, rued locals.
Besides increased flow, area under water also expands during the rainy season with the result that even reaching near the temporary foot bridge becomes difficult for school going children and elderly people.
As the authorities seem waiting for some major mishap before awakening from slumber of insensitivity, locals continue to suffer.
