UDHAMPUR, June 10: Locals of   village Damnote today held a strong protest demonstration against no supply of drinking water to Chaiman Devi temple since September 2014, when the supply line was damaged due to devastating floods and consequent landslides.
According to the protesting villagers, some pipes of water supply line from Salta (Damnote) to Shri Mata Chaiman Devi, were partially damaged in the floods thus disrupting   supply to the holy place. “Despite repeated requests by the public, the concerned authorities have not taken any initiative to replace the damaged pipes and restore water supply to the famous holy public place,” they lamented.
Due to no supply of water, the visiting pilgrims to this holy place are forced to trek down three kilometers to quench their thirst.
People have requested senior PHE authorities to restore this essential water supply on priority.
