UDHAMPUR, July 22: Alleging failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE) in providing regular and adequate water supply to them, the residents of Ward number 18 Ronat today held a massive protest against the concerned authorities by carrying empty pots.
Led by Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria, Chairman Jan Sangharsh Sanstha, the protestors raised slogans against the PHE Department and District administration Udhampur. They alleged no regular supply of drinking water for the last three years with the result people of the area were suffering and their normal life was getting affected.
Sanjeet Bavouria said that the matter was variously brought into the notice of the concerned authorities but all in vain. “Even as we staged protests many times to highlight our grievance but no action was taken in this regard till thus forcing the people to get water from natural sources, which are not safe,” he said.
