KATHUA, Mar 13: A meeting of Pensioners Welfare Association was held here today under the chairmanship of S. Amrik Singh, district general secretary of the Association.
Speakers in the meeting demanded release of 18 month pending DA arrears besides increasing medical allowances from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 at par with pensioners of Central Government.
It was also demanded that monthly pension should be enhanced from the age of 65 years, 70 years and 75 years instead of 80 years which has been done in many States.
Association members urged upon J&K LG to release 4 per cent DA installment due from January this year.
Mohd Iqbal, Shambu Nath, Rajinder Singh Dadwal, Karan Singh, Som Nath, Tara Singh, Des Raj, Balbir Paul Singh, Om Parkash, Puran Singh, Sohan Lal, Vidya Kour, Shakuntla Choudhary and others were also present in the meeting.
