JAMMU, Mar 31: One person was killed at Hatli Morh today after hit by a Maruti car near Chinab Textile Mill on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
He was identified as Ram Chand, 49, son of Raja Ram of Hatli Morh. He was working as carpenter in the industrial area. The car also met an accident after hitting the pedestrian resulting in injury to the driver who was identified as Jatinder Verma also of Hatli Morh. He has been admitted in District Hospital Kathua for treatment.
The dead body of Ram Chand was handed over to his family members by police after postmortem for last rites.
Hatli police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law and started investigation. The car has also been seized by the police.
