Pedestrian dies after hit by truck; youth found dead

JAMMU, Dec 24: A pedestrian died today in a road accident in Gadigarh area while the dead body of a youth was recovered in mysterious circumstances from a graveyard in Satwari area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a pedestrian namely Paramvir Singh (17) son of Rashpal Singh, resident of Ranibagh, sustained serious injuries this afternoon when a speeding truck hit him in Gadigarh area.
“The injured boy was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 8:45 PM,” said the official, adding the body was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital while a case in this connection registered at police station Satwari and investigations started.
Meanwhile, the dead body of an 18-year-old youth was recovered late this evening under mysterious circumstances from a graveyard located at Dashmesh Nagar, Satwari. The body was lying under a shed. The police had shifted the body to mortuary room of GMCH Jammu while inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated at police station Satwari. The deceased was identified as Mehtab Ahmed son of Arshad Mir, resident of Poonch.
