Doda, Mar 22: Jammu Kashmir Peace Movement, an amalgamation of about twenty Non Governmental Organizations held a peace rally here today.
The main aim behind organizing the rally was to create awareness among the masses about the evils of terrorism, corruption, unemployment and lack of education in the state.
Representatives of various NGOs participated in the rally which started from Dak Banglow and culminated at District Development Commissioner’s office.
A memorandum highlighting various problems being faced by the people of the State due to terrorism was also submitted to Additional District Development Commissioner Doda.
The activists of Jammu Kashmir Peace Movement said that similar rallies will be also organized in other districts of the State to create awareness among the people regarding the terrorism and other such problems in the State.
They said that terrorism is being aided and abated from across the border and the NGO have decided to intensify anti terrorism activities in the state and press the state and central government to take steps to restore peace in the State.
Members of the NGO expressed concern over increasing corruption, unemployment, and communalism in the State due to terrorism.
