SRINAGAR, Mar 26: Stating that ruling dispensation led by PDP has lost the people’s trust, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, GA Mir has urged upon the people to defeat the divisive politics of exploitation on the part of ruling dispensation.
While addressing election meetings at Khanabal and Damhal- Khushipora Mir, who is joint candidate of NC-Cong for Lok Sabha By-poll from Anantnag appealed the people not to be influenced by false propaganda being spread by PDP aiming to garner support for their candidates. He said PDP while sacrificing its principles, has played with the emotions of people on certain sensitive issues for the sake of power.
“ It is evident that this Party (PDP) has not come up to the expectations of the people, who voted for them to check BJP- RSS entry into the State, but it is surprising that the same party ensured space for fascist and communal forces in the State,” Mir said.
He said the upcoming by-elections has provided an opportunity to people to demonstrate their anger against the ruling dispensation, besides that it becomes a bounden duty of people to respond to ruling dispensation by rejecting PDP candidates in the elections, as that will be a right answer to PDP and its mentor RSS.
The defeat of PDP amounts to defeating the communal agenda of RSS -BJP, the need of the hour is to show the PDP that it can no longer take people’s urges and aspirations as for granted, as was done after elections results in 2014. The ruling dispensation has lost the people’s trust and the defeat of PDP is inevitable in the upcoming elections, Mir said.
Addressing the gather former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Syed and former Minister Taj Mohiuddin made fervent appeal to people to vote for INC- NC candidate GA Mir, as it is the Congress Party alone, which can defeat the fascist and communal forces, who are active in the state with the help and cooperation of PDP.
They said PDP has surrendered everything before RSS for power and people should realize that their vote to INC -NC candidates amounts to strengthening secular forces in the State.
MLA Gulzar Wani, Dr BA Veeri, Jugal Kishore Sharma-both MLCs, senior leaders Dr Shafi, Abbass Dar and Hilal Ahmad Shah also spoke on the occasion.
